Warning...people might just battle it out for the last spoonful! It’s so irresistible! AILI Pecan Cheese Spread is rich in flavor and has very low net carbs.

Ingredients

  • 8-ounce package of cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3/4 pecan halves (to be turned into ¾ cup finely chopped toasted pecans below)
  • 2 tablespoons onion, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup (46 g) FirstRate™
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon spicy brown mustard
  • Sturdy gluten-free crackers

Directions

  1. Set cream cheese out to room temperature.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 F to toast pecans.
  3. Spread 1 cup of pecans evenly over an ungreased baking sheet (note: that nuts may toast faster on dark baking sheets and slower on light-colored ones).
  4. Place the baking sheet with pecans in the oven and toast for 4 - 5 minutes.
  5. Allow pecans to cool, then cut into ¾ cup of finely chopped toasted pecans (note: don’t use extra pecans)
  6. Thoroughly mix the room temperature cream cheese, onion, and garlic in a small bowl. Transfer the mixture to a serving plate and shape it into a 6-inch disk. Cover and chill in the fridge for 1 hour. (note: you can make this ahead of time and pull out before event)
  7. 30 min before you are ready to serve, remove the cheese mixture from the refrigerator and allow it to return to room temperature.
  8. In a medium saucepan, add the butter and FirstRateTM. Stir until mixed well. Add the Worcestershire sauce, then the mustard. Stir continuously over medium heat. Add in toasted pecans. Sauté pecans for 3 - 5 min in sauce.
  9. Allow the mixture to cool slightly for a few minutes. Then spoon pecans over cream cheese, allowing the pecans to fall over the sides.
  10. Be prepared for a frenzy as soon as this dish is served - it’s so irresistible, people might just battle it out for the last spoonful!
