AILI Dad’s Creme Brulee
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Vanilla Bean Pod, optional
- 5 Egg Yolks, Large
- 1/2 Cup And I Like It™ FirstRate™
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325F.
- In a medium size bowl beat egg yolks, FirstRate & vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a small saucepan add the heavy cream, scrape the insides of a vanilla pod, and add the whole vanilla bean pod. Cook over low heat until just before boiling.
- Remove the vanilla bean pod then very slowly pour some of the heated heavy cream into the egg mixture while whisking , then mix in the remaining heavy cream until combined.
- Pour into 5 ramekins. Set ramekins in a 9x13 inch pan & pour hot water in the pan until it comes up to 1/2 the side of the ramekin.
- Bake in the oven for 30 - 40 minutes until the center is slightly jiggly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool.
- Chill in the fridge for 3-4 hours or overnight.
